The content moved with it. What changes is what the portal can do.
What you find there
Knowledge base. Articles are organised by audience: attendees, event organisers, speakers, and sponsors and exhibitors. The organiser section is the largest and is split by module, from ticketing and registration, finances and abstracts and agenda to sponsor management, expo, badges and check-in, CRM, marketing, communications and Smart Hub itself. Attendees find setup guides for the mobile app and help with sign-in problems. Every article shows its author and publication date.
Releases. Each product release is announced as an article in its own section, with the release label so you can filter for it. The first two entries are already there: the MCP server for every event, and the self-service dashboard for sponsors and exhibitors.
News. Announcements that are not tied to a release: events we attend, programme changes, anything you should know about.
Ideas. Feature requests and suggestions, in the open. Sign in to post an idea, comment on someone else's, and vote for the ones that matter to you. The votes are visible to everyone, including us, and they inform what goes on the roadmap.
run.events Connect. A member directory. Find your peers, other organisers, sponsors and speakers who use the platform, see what they do, and connect with them.
Amal. An AI assistant that answers questions about the community and its content. Ask it where a setting lives or how a feature works, and it answers from the knowledge base and the articles. It carries the AI disclosure required by the EU AI Act and hands over to human support when it cannot help. Amal is available to signed-in members.
Support. The support widget on every page opens a ticket with the run.events support team. This is the same channel as before.
Signing in
Your run.events account is your community account. There is no separate registration. If you organise, sponsor, speak at or attend events on run.events, you can sign in today and post, comment, vote and ask Amal. Reading the knowledge base, news and releases does not require signing in.
Why Smart Hub
We use our own product for the same reason we recommend it to customers: one platform for the website, the knowledge base, the discussion, the member directory and the AI assistant, instead of a help desk here, a forum there and a newsletter tool somewhere else. It also means the community portal gets every Smart Hub improvement the moment it ships, because it is the same code.
Coming next: training and certification
A training and certification programme is in preparation. It will run on this portal and on Smart Hub as well. Course material is published as articles and video, each training group is organised as a run.events event with its own dates and sessions, and an AI tutor answers questions from the same knowledge base. Certification will be earned by configuring a real event in a sandbox against a written brief, and graded by checking the result through the public API, not by a multiple-choice test. The first credentials are planned for implementation partners, with organiser teams to follow. Details, timelines and enrolment will be announced here under Releases.
Where to start
- Open https://community.run.events and sign in with your run.events account.
- Browse the knowledge base section for your role.
- Post your first idea, or vote on the ones already there.
- Bookmark the Releases section. Every product change is announced there first.
Questions and feedback about the portal itself belong in Ideas.
