How to Set Up a Call for Content in run.events

run.events allows you to select speakers in two ways:

  • By inviting them directly (offline selection), or
  • By opening an official Call for Content.

This article explains how to configure an open Call for Speakers in run.events.

Accessing Call for Content Settings

Go to: Content & Speakers -> Call for Content Settings

Here you will configure the main parameters of your Call for Content.

In this section, set:

  • Start Date – when the Call for Speakers opens
  • End Date – when submissions close
  • Session Modification Deadline – until when speakers may edit their submitted sessions

  • Speaker Profile Modification Deadline – until when speakers may update their profiles
  • Maximum Number of Sessions per Speaker – limits how many proposals each speaker can submit
  • Secret code

Using a Secret Code (Backdoor Access)

You can optionally define a SECRET CODE. This is useful when you want to allow selected speakers to submit sessions after the official deadline.

Speakers with the secret code can use the Call for Content Backdoor Link to submit content even after the Call has closed.

You can find this link under: Settings → Widgets and Links The link ends with your configured secret code.

Customizing Speaker-Facing Text

Within the Call for Content Settings, you can define:

  • Speaker Information Text – displayed on the Speaker Dashboard before submission
  • Session Submission Confirmation Text – displayed after a speaker submits a session
  • Multiple Speakers per Session – enable or disable multi‑speaker submissions

These texts help guide speakers through the submission process.

Publishing the Call for Speakers Link

Once your configuration is complete, retrieve your official Call for Speakers link from: Settings → Widgets and Links.

You can embed this link on your website or share it directly with potential speakers.
