What is a run.events Smart Hub?
run.events Smart Hub is your event's always-on digital home — a branded, interactive space where attendees can browse sessions, register, access their tickets, connect with each other, and engage with your content - before, during, and after the event.
Unlike a standard event page, a Smart Hub is persistent, deeply integrated with the run.events platform, and requires no widgets, iframes, or third-party tools. Think of it as a mobile app for the web.
A run.events Smart Hub can operate in two modes:
- Standalone — no linked event
- Best for year-round community hubs, associations, or membership groups.
- Event-bound — linked to a specific run.events event
- Unlocks agenda, speaker pages, registration, and ticket display. Recommended as the primary website for your event.
Use Cases
1. Smart Hub
An always-on digital space for year-round audience engagement — not just during events. It suits professional communities, recurring conference audiences, or any group that benefits from continuous connection.
●Members log in with their run.events account and are automatically recognized as community members.
●Organizers can post articles, videos, and updates that members can browse and interact with.
●Members can comment on posts and content.
●An optional onboarding flow with community guidelines and acceptance agreement can be shown when a new member joins.
●Organizers can configure which content types are public and which require sign-in.
2. Association & Membership Management
run.events Smart Hub provides the foundation for managing associations and membership-based organizations. Organizers can control who belongs to their community, what roles those members hold, and what they can access or contribute.
●Members are tracked within the community, giving organizers a clear view of their audience.
●Roles: Members can be assigned roles: Contributor, Moderator, or Administrator.
●Community membership can be restricted to logged-in users only, making it a private member-only space.
3. Event Front-End (run.events Smart Hub Bound to an Event)
When a run.events Smart Hub is linked to a specific event, it gains a full set of event-aware capabilities and can serve as the primary public-facing website for that event. This replaces the default run.events event dashboard with a richer, configurable, branded experience.
●The run.events Smart Hub automatically displays an event registration button, linking directly to the registration form.
●Attendees who are logged in and have a ticket can see their ticket immediately on their profile header.
●Event data (sessions, speakers, sponsors, agenda) is pulled directly from run.events — no duplication needed.
●Sessions favourited in the community are synced with the run.events mobile app and personal schedule.
●The AI support assistant draws from event FAQs, articles, and video transcripts to answer attendee questions.
Reuse across editions: A run.events Smart Hub can be reused across event editions. Simply update the linked event to point to the new year's edition — all content, members, and configuration carry over. No need to rebuild from scratch.
One Smart Hub = one event. Each community can be linked to at most one event at a time. If you manage multiple events, create a separate run.events Smart Hub for each, or use a run.events Smart Hub without an event link as a general hub and include a list of upcoming events.
run.events Smart Hub as a Lead Collection Tool
When anonymous browsing is enabled (recommended for event communities), visitors can browse the community without logging in. However, when they choose to join — either by clicking "Join" or signing in — they become a tracked Smart Hub member.
In the Members section, organizers can see: :
●Who has joined
●Whether that person holds a ticket
●Whether they have opted in to receive emails
This makes the run.events Smart Hub a light-touch lead collection and audience insights tool — useful for identifying prospects who haven't yet purchased a ticket, enabling targeted follow-up.
