Global and Event Modules in the run.events Mobile App

Global run.events Mobile App Module

When you open the run.events mobile app, you first enter the global run.events module. This is the default landing area for all users who are not yet within an event environment.

Identifying Global Mode

You can always confirm that you are in the global module by checking the top-left corner of the screen:

  • If it displays run.events, you are in the global view.

Search Options in Global Connect

In the global module, you can browse and connect with anyone who has made their profile public. This space is designed to help users discover people, explore upcoming events, and navigate the platform at a broader level.

The global Connect module offers two search filters:

  • Name
  • Company

These options allow for basic discovery while keeping the global directory simple and lightweight.

Landing Behaviour

If a user does not have an active event ticket, they will always land in the global module. From here, they can:

  • See events they have tickets for (if any)

  • Browse other upcoming events

  • Connect with public profiles using the limited global search filters

This global behaviour has been part of the app for the past five years and is intentionally designed to support users who attend multiple events from different organizers.

Event Module

If you have a ticket for a specific event, you can switch from the global module into the event module.

To enter event mode:

  • Tap Events (bottom left)
  • Select your event

Once inside the event module, you are viewing a dedicated environment tailored to your selected event.

Identifying Event Mode

You can confirm you are in event mode by checking the top-left corner:

  • The event name replaces run.events

This visual cue ensures you always know whether you are browsing globally or within a specific event.

Search Options in Event Connect

The event-level Connect module provides expanded search capabilities:

  • Name
  • Company
  • Job Role
  • Country

These additional filters help attendees find relevant participants more easily and support meaningful networking within the event community.

Automatic Event Landing

For attendees with a valid ticket:

  • Starting 7 days before the event, the app automatically opens in event mode
  • This ensures quick access to event-specific features and participant networking

If the event is more than 7 days away, the user will still land in the global module and can manually enter the event.
