Event Gamification – Configuring Sponsor Giveaways
Gamification coins can be redeemed to “purchase” rewards, including giveaways offered by your sponsors.
If you are using the gamification features in run.events, sponsors can provide you with the names and photos of their giveaways—such as pens, notebooks, backpacks, t-shirts, and other branded swag. You can upload these giveaway items so they appear in the mobile app, allowing attendees to browse what is available and learn which sponsor booth to visit to collect their items.
Accessing Sponsor Giveaways
To configure sponsor giveaways:
Go to: Gamification -> Sponsor Giveaways

Adding a New Giveaway
Click on +Add new

When the Add Giveaway window opens, you will need to provide the following information:
- Sponsor Association: Link the giveaway to one of your sponsors.
- Image Upload: Upload an image representing the giveaway.
- Name & Description: Provide the giveaway’s name and a short description.
- Specify Price, Quantity & User Limit:
- Price: cost in coins
- User Limit: maximum number each attendee can claim
- Quantity: how many items are available
- Active Status: Set whether the giveaway is currently active.

Organizers should assign prices in coins , which attendees earn by visiting sponsor booths, attending sponsor or regular sessions, and participating in other event activities.
“Selling” Giveaways (Sponsor Workflow)
If the giveaways have been uploaded in advance to be visible in the mobile app, sponsors can immediately “sell” these giveaways to leads after scanning their badge.
When a sponsor opens the mobile app in event mode, a scan icon appears on their main screen.

Clicking the icon, opens the badge scanner window, allowing sponsors to scan attendee badges.

After scanning, sponsors select one of their giveaway items and assign it to the lead in exchange for a specified number of coins.
To complete the process, sponsor taps the giveaway item in the app to register it as handed out to the attendee. This allows attendees to earn coins by visiting a booth and spend those coins to claim your swag.
Repeat Scans and Lead Deduplication
Leads can visit booth multiple times to purchase giveaways. Their badges can be scanned again, and sponsors can “sell” additional giveaways as needed.
Rest assured that leads that have been scanned multiple times will only appear once in their leads list.
Organiser Tip: Testing Sponsor Tools
To facilitate testing of sponsor-facing tools—such as gamification, mobile app views, and selling giveaways—you can create an Organizer profile under the Sponsors section.
This setup provides full access to sponsor tools and ensures accurate simulation of the sponsor experience.
For example, you can “sell” giveaways like coffee or other items that are normally free to attendees. In this way, participants are encouraged to visit sessions, engage with booths, and complete surveys.
