Private and Public Groups

Attendees can use the run.events mobile app to create private and public chat groups or easily join existing public groups that interest them. This feature empowers attendees to self-organize, network, and communicate, boosting overall event engagement.


Organizer view

On the Event level, go to Communications, and select Public Groups

Sort it by Group Name, Date and by Creator

 

If you want to edit the name of a group, click on the group. In the new window, the option to change the name will appear. Make your changes and save them.

 

If you want to Delete a group, just click on a “delete” button and the action will perform.

 

As the organizer, you have full control over what’s discussed in public chat groups. You can moderate these groups through the run.events organizer interface or delete them if necessary, ensuring that discussions remain appropriate and on-topic.

Attendee view

As an attendee, you can access both private and public groups through the mobile app.

Go to the ‘Connect’ tab, where you’ll see options such as Chat, Connect, Groups, and Suggested.

Click on ‘Groups.’

This tab shows the public groups that have already been created and are available for you to join.

Attendees can also see which groups they have already joined.

 

By clicking the ‘plus’ button, you can start creating a new group.

A group administrator can easily define:

  • Group name
  • Whether the group is public or private
  • Whether notifications should be turned on when a new member joins

With Search option, you can Add Members by their nam

By clicking on a group, you can start chatting with its members and moderating topics and conversations.

The group administrator has the option to delete the chat group.

As a member of any group, you always have the option to leave the group and its conversation.
