Communications module overview

The run.events Communications module provides tools that support attendee networking and organiser‑to‑attendee communication. Most networking features are available through the run.events mobile application.

Mobile App Access

Attendees who have registered for an event log in to the mobile app using the same email address used during ticket purchase.

Once logged in, attendees can connect with others by:

  • Scanning event badges to send/accept connection requests
  • Using the “Connect” search to find attendees by name, company, job role, or country
    • Search is available before the event, enabling early networking and meeting planning

One-on-one chats

After a connection is established, attendees can:

  • Exchange contact details
  • Send direct messages
  • Schedule meetings
  • Share files and photos

Connections remain active after the event, allowing continued communication through the mobile app.

Private and Public Groups

The mobile app supports:

  • Private chat groups created by attendees
  • Public groups that any attendee can join

Organisers can:

  • Moderate public groups
  • Remove inappropriate content
  • Delete groups if required

Moderation is performed through the organiser interface.

Mobile App Links & In-app displays

The mobile app automatically applies the event’s branding:

  • Optional custom splash screens
  • Custom links and pages
  • Additional images or content defined by the organiser

This allows the app to visually match each event’s design.
